Yoga Teacher Training Retreat Program Details
Summary of Schedule:
Technique Training, and Practice: 100 hours
Asanas, pranayama, mantra, meditation, and other traditional yoga techniques will be covered. These hours will be a mix between (1) analytical training in how to teach and practice the techniques, and (2) guided practice of the techniques themselves; both areas will receive substantial emphasis.
Teaching Methodology: 25 hours
Principles of demonstration, observation, assisting/ therapeutic adjustments, instruction techniques, teaching styles, the qualities and ethics of a successful teacher, the student’s process of learning, and business aspects of teaching yoga.
Anatomy & Physiology: 20 hours
Practice hours will include an exploration of the asanas using experiential anatomy exercises and the study of energy anatomy with a focus on marma points and the chakras. Includes both the study healthy biomechanical alignment and application of alignment principles to yoga postures (benefits, contraindications, healthy movement patterns, etc).
Yoga Philosophy, Lifestyle and Ethics for Yoga Teachers: 30 hours
Includes the study of yoga philosophies, yoga lifestyle, and ethics for yoga teachers.
Practicum: 10 hours
Includes practice teaching, receiving feedback, observing others teaching and hearing/giving feedback.
Seva (Selfless Service): 15 hours

Personal practice in Hatha, Vinyasa, Anusara®, Power, Sivananda, Asthanga, Bikram, Yin, Restorative and Fusion yoga styles.
Teaching StyleKimberly teaches in a progressive format where yoga postures are built step by step and grow in complexity towards a challenging or pinnacle posture (asana). She has an inclusive attitude and integrates the use of blocks, belts, straps and blankets to make the postures accessible and to invite challenge.
Classes are structured with creative sequences using layered alignment instructions that sync students with the naturally rhythm of their own breath. Kimberly enjoys blending yoga philosophies with everyday life experiences and weaves the philosophy throughout the class.
Being hit with a ‘spirit spark’ by her first yoga teacher ignited in Kimberly the flame of desire to learn all she could about the practices of yoga. She experienced a natural affinity for the ancient philosophies that are the foundation of the modern approach to yoga and found that there was a deeper aspect to the teachings that brought to surface an inspired love for people and life.
A natural curiosity and eagerness for knowledge led her to seek out trusted and skilled teachers. After completing her first 200 hour teacher training, the craving to learn was even stronger and she went on to study in the Anusara School of Hatha Yoga® in their 500 hour program. As an ardent student, Kimberly listens to the wisdom her own personal practice conveys and continues to seek out teachers with the highest standards and innovative practice and teaching techniques.
Having shared her passion for yoga in a wide variety of venues with a diverse client set since 1999, Kimberly has gained understanding and practical skills to bring yoga alignment techniques, mindfulness methodologies to empower people physically, emotionally, mentally and spiritually.
Extensive classroom experience with a focus on service led Kimberly in the direction of yoga teacher training program design, curriculum development and technical writing for resource manuals. In addition to empowering local yoga teachers, she is invested in teaching internationally and has hosted educational retreats since 2010 that have a focus on charitable giving through selfless service.
As a professional she has witnessed trends in the yoga industry evolve over the past two decades and now, more than ever, she would like to demonstrate through her teaching the positive influence and layered benefits that the practices of yoga offer while continuing to advance professional standards in the yoga community.
